Lectures & Masterclasses

Dr. Oney presents Artist Residencies, guest lectures, workshops, concerts and master classes at universities, schools, colleges, conservatories, arts organizations and other groups throughout the country. She is often sought as an expert in instrumental and vocal jazz, voice (authentic singing in a variety of styles, from opera and classical art song in six languages to jazz and commercial music), musical theatre, songwriting, choral music and music history. She is skilled in presenting jazz combo coaching sessions and vocal jazz clinics stressing authentic style, phrasing, rhythmic feel and intonation as well as choral movement workshops using Dalcroze Eurhythmics. This method helps musicians experience choral singing from a kinesthetic standpoint, and strengthens aural skills, rhythmic precision and creative expression while enhancing the joy of music-making. Oney's singing master classes have spanned the gamut of styles. Her approach focuses on singing healthfully and authentically in a variety of genres, with instruction from a pedagogue well-versed in healthy technique, vocal hygiene and vocal anatomy.
